PROF SYDNEY REBEIRO
Prof Sydney Rebeiro has proven record in Civil Society / NGO leadership and international Partnerships spanning 4 continents and extensive experience in Heritage – Cross Cultural Issues and in Counselling , having also pioneered Alumni Resource Banking in South Asia, developing concept + systems – placement of South Asia’s first University Culture Council ( at DU ) and the first Alumni Advisory Council framework. Prof Sydney is holds the position of Patron at Matri Sudha- A Charitable Trust since 26th May 2006, when he acknowledged the meaningful multi-pronged social service rendered by Matri Sudha among the weaker sections and the marginalized in the city. Arvind Singh (Director)
Arvind is a young, dynamic and charismatic Sikh leader who was born in a Sikh family in the year when anti-Sikh riots began in Delhi. He shared the story that “at the time of his birth he was in Noida, alone with his mother as the father was on work related tour. Somehow his mother managed to return to her parent’s house in South Delhi. Perhaps the whole family was lucky to escape the brunt of violence and survived. However, the memories remained forever.
He did not begin his work in a non-profit organization with the language of policy, rights, or development. He began his journey as a school student to help children from marginalized communities to excel in their education in one of the slums in Southeast Delhi. Matri Sudha was born after some years. It has never been an easy journey, especially, when out of 20 cousins, he is the only one who chose the path of social transformation.
This journey has humbled him. It taught him that social change is slow, often invisible, and deeply emotional. Being a strong believer in Gurbani he says that Guru Nanak Dev Ji, challenged the patriarchy and narrated a phrase from it “Why call her bad, from whom kings are born”. He says, being a Sikh man, standing against discrimination, patriarchal taboos and oppression of women is the form of Seva and Sarbat Da Bhalla (welfare of all). He says being a male into the leadership, his goal has always been to develop women leadership, running from the community level to the organizational level.
What stayed with him most was not just the hardship, but the humanity.
SURENDER SINGH (PRESIDENT)
He is a professional social worker. He is one of the founding members of MatriSudha- A Charitable Trust and currently holds the position of President in the organization. Mr. Surender Singh is passionate on issue related to early childhood care and development and child protection.
JASBIR KAUR (VICE PRESIDENT)
She is the founder of Matri Sudha- A Charitable Trust. She carries more than 20 years of experience of working with children. She voluntary served in Matri Sudha for more than 10 years of her work with the organization. She currently looks into organization development issues. Ms. Jasbir Kuar had been the student of Bachelor of Arts at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College.
INDRAJ SINGH VERMA (GENERAL SECRETARY)
He is a retired teacher from a government school. He is having more than 30 years of teaching experience. He carries more than 40 years of social work experience working on multiple issues. He looks into organization management issues of Matri Sudha- A Charitable Trust.
RAJENDER SINGH (JOINT SECRETARY)
He is a professional lawyer in Delhi High Court. He is having more than 20 years of experience in legal services. He suggests in any legal matter related to children.
Dr. Satyajit Kumar
Dr. Satyajit Kumar pursued his academic journey with zeal, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Science from Vinoba Bhave University, Jharkhand. His educational background laid the foundation for his illustrious career in healthcare and public service. Dr. Kumar is not merely a healthcare professional but also an active member of the esteemed Delhi Medical Association (DMA) since 2003. His involvement in this professional association signifies his commitment to staying connected with the medical community and continuously enhancing his knowledge and skills. click this link
RAVI SHANKER RAI (TREASURER)
Mr. Ravi is associated with Matri Sudha since 2012. He is expert in early childhood care and development with special skills in development research. Mr. Ravi holds three Master Degrees in Development Studies, Sociology and Management. He awarded a Gold Medal in M.A. Development Studies.
